Praise to God for a Living Hope

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:3-5

Every year Glory Reborn takes time to invest in our staff in a more personal, deeper time of refreshing through our staff retreat. Our staff work so tirelessly to serve the mothers and babies and local communities with genuine compassion and love.

As truly rewarding as our “jobs”are journeying with our mothers is not always a joyful time. In each day there is a mommy who is suffering emotionally or physically or a burden that these mothers carry that need prayer, a listening ear and the hug of someone who truly cares.

While Glory Reborn takes care of the physical needs of each mother and baby under our care, there is a whole other side of our passion and work which is investing in hopeful hearts.

Investing in mommies and babies physically, emotionally and spiritually can be a bit tiresome on days so we hope to refresh our staff in a real and deep way while honoring their hard work in Cebu.

Our retreat also came at a timely moment as many of our staff have lost loved ones who were very dear to them in the recent months and weeks leading up to the retreat. We were all needing a time of praising and encouraging that we might be “filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy…!”

The theme of our staff retreat this year was “Every Heart Alive”. It is our desire to see each member of our team walking daily with the full assurance of our Living Hope – that no matter what happens, we will walk through to the other side with our faith proved genuine, continually praising, continually trusting, and continually secure as Children of God.

We were thankful to have local pastors, worship teams and even the El Paso Cielo Vista Church team be a huge part of investing in our team through their messages, words of encouragement and personal prayer. Everyone on the team received prayer and encouragement, is there any better way to have a heart made alive?!

I want to say a deep, personal thank you to everyone who not just faithfully supports Glory Reborn but for all of your heartfelt and faithful prayers. They carry us on days that are long and hard and sustain us each and every step of the way. What a beautiful team we have together, all around the world making sure Every Heart is Alive! From staff member to patients to the next generation of leaders.

We look forward to more years of serving the Lord together in this nation!
